Alleghany Highlands Arts Council, Mistoric Masonic Theatre, A tribute to john denver
April 24, 2026 @ 7:00 pm – 9:00 pm
John Denver’s enduring legacy conjures memories of an era when music was inspiring and influential. His compositions combined romance, folk, country, and environmentalism. Ted Virgil not only bears a striking resemblance to Denver in appearance and voice, but he also shares a profound connection to the spirit of the iconic artist. He has reverently assembled a show that will warm your heart.
Since 1953 the Alleghany Highlands Arts Council has taken great pride in the performing arts events we present to the residents of this community. The AHAC and its board of directors have built a reputation for commitment to the quality of life in an area already blessed by rich history, majestic natural beauty and friendly, caring people. One might ask what else we need? The answer is – YOU. So we invite you to join us for this outstanding season. Everyone is welcome to participate because “arts4all” includes YOU.” The Arts Council began as a small group of dedicated individuals who met regularly to plan and execute performances. Later, this organization called itself the Community Concert Series. In the 1980s, the group incorporated as the Alleghany Highlands Arts Council, a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation, to present live performing arts of the highest professional quality. Since those early days, its operation has involved many volunteers who are committed to providing artistic and cultural events, which benefit the quality of life, educational resources, and economic health in the Alleghany Highlands Community. Outreach into the public schools is a priority. The Arts Council also sponsors a choral group, orchestra, and community theatre group that allow local artists an opportunity to perform.
