Lime Kiln Theater, Lesington, VA, Dan Tyminski Band, OPener: Garrett Boys
June 5 @ 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm
OPENER: Every family has its own unique history, a timeline fleshed out by memorable characters, milestone events, and the stories passed on through the decades that bind it all together. For the Garrett Boys, a family trio from Overton County in east Tennessee, their history just happens to lend itself to some excellent Appalachian folk music.
HEADLINER: Dan Tyminski was six years old when his parents began taking him to fiddle contests, square dances, and bluegrass festivals across New England. For a young musician who would later become one of the biggest names in modern-day bluegrass, those early experiences were life-changing. “Watching live music always spoke to me much louder than sitting in front of my record player,” he remembers. “I loved it. Wherever music was being played, I wanted to go watch. Years later, I still feel that way.”
Lime Kiln Theater is a non-profit organization that enriches the community’s culture by producing and presenting the arts in our unique historic spaces. Attending a show at Lime Kiln is a unique and immersive experience. The natural stone walls, trees, and stars overhead blend perfectly with the folk, roots, and bluegrass tunes that cast a spell and get toes tapping in our audience every season. Our Bowl venue holds 675 guests on our wooden benches and grassy spaces, giving you the option to bring your own chairs and blanket and get cozy. Each season, we host area food trucks and open our doors over an hour before the show begins, giving you time to catch up with friends over delicious local fare. We also partner with local breweries and wineries to provide a wide assortment of beer, wine, and cider. More than just a concert, attending a show at Lime Kiln Theater is a one-of-a-kind experience, and one we hope you enjoy over and over again.
